The Honeymoon

The cyclops is a family Joke. I don't know how it started but we seem to hang on to it. -)

After the wedding we drove up to Park City. We were both really tired after the wedding. It went really well, and I hope that everyone who came enjoyed themselves. So, we got to park city really late. It was such a nice place we stayed at. Our fireplace didn't work the first night so the second night they upgraded our room to a larger one.

The living area, it was so nice.

We ate at Ruth's Chris Steak house. It was REALLY good. Our steaks came out on a sizzling plate with butter. So good.

It snowed each night while we were in park city.

We went to the spa they had in the hotel, it was really nice. I could get use to how nice it was there. The third and fourth day we stayed in Midway, at an apartment that was included in Jon's parents time share. They gave us a two night stay for our wedding present which was really nice. Over all we had a really fun time bundling up, and relaxing in park city and midway.

Bridal Showers and Girls Night

My old co-workers were so nice to throw me a bridal shower. They took me to the pizza factory and gave me a couple of awesome presents.
Then Thursday before the big day I went to Elijah and Analia's house with my friends and Jon's family. It was fun we played a get to know you game, and it was a lot of fun. Jon's family had morning presents and I got awesome stuff for making breakfast. My family got me day stuff, which was stuff for cleaning and doing laundry. Which was really nice because detergent is expensive. Then after that me and my friends went a restaurant that specialized in making delicious drinks. We had a lot of fun, and I'm so grateful for a couple of friends that came in from out of state. We had a lot of fun.

Jon's Birthday

I haven't updated our blog in a long time so I'll be doing a little back tracking. For Jon's birthday I got him his favorite cake, which is black forest. I was going to bake him one, but we didn't have any baking things at the time. So, I was lucky enough to find one at the store. I forgot candles so I had Jon blow out my house candle.

We watched a movie, and I think we went out to eat... I can't remember. Haha I guess Nov.13 was to long ago for me to remember.

Wedding Stuff

Jon just got on me about the blog, saying I haven't changed it in forever and that I needed too. We are both really busy with work and school, plus planning a wedding. I think we basically have everything done. We need to pick out the food, bridesmaid dresses, and the mementos.

Our engagement photos turned out really cute. I'm very happy with them, our photographer John Espinosa is very professional.

We are working on getting announcements out. So, if I don't have your address feel free to email me it!

The Proposal

Sunday night when Jon had told me that he was going to pick me up on Monday at 6:30 I thought for dinner. But later that evening, around 10, he said I should go home. I joked with him, asking why he was trying to kick me out? It was only 10! It was when he walked me to the car that he told me that when he said 6:30 he meant 6:30 in the morning. I didn't believe that he was going to pick me up that early. I thought he was joking with me. But once I got home he sent me a text message saying to bring my camera, and my phone fully charged. I was so confused and so excited I could barely fall asleep that night.

The next morning at 6:30 Jon was at my dad's place to pick me up. As he opened my car door he asked if I had brought my license - which really confused me. I thought maybe we were going on a train ride because I had told Jon I wanted to ride a train, since I never have. I also thought we might be going go-cart racing. Needless to say, I was really confused about what we were going to do. Then I saw him take the airport exit and I knew we were going to the airport. Then once we got in the airport he gave me my boarding pass to Seattle. I was really excited.

Once we landed in Seattle we got our rental car and went to the Space Needle to park. We walked all around Seattle. I showed him Pikes Place market, the water front and the water fountain by the Space Needle. Once lunch time arrived we went up to the Space Needle restaurant – which is a very nice establishment.

When the waitress seated us there was sparkling cider on ice, and as soon as I saw that I knew what was about to happen. I got so nervous I lost my appetite as did Jon. It was really funny because we had talked about getting married and I didn't feel any nerves, but as soon as I knew it was going to happen I was so nervous. I barely ate my lunch and Jon asked me if I wanted dessert - which I didn't because I wouldn't be able to eat more food. He said he was going to get ice cream for dessert.
When the waitress brought out the dessert, it was covered with fog from a bowl below containing dried ice. She set it down in front of me and I went to slide it over to Jon. As I went to do that the fog subsided and I saw the most beautiful ring. I started crying (I was so sure I wasn't going to cry), and Jon grabbed the ring and told me to stand up. Once I stood he got down on one knee and asked, "Ariel, will you marry me?" I was choked up from crying I just nodded my head yes and pulled him up for a hug. Everyone clapped including the wait staff that was lined up outside of the kitchen area. The waitress took our picture and brought out delicious sorbet instead of ice cream because Jon told her I was lactose intolerant. After lunch we went out on the observation deck and took pictures, and called our parents.

We drove around Tacoma and walked around because we didn't want to miss our flight back to Utah. We got back that night at about 10. It was the best, most exciting day of my life - even if I was crying in front of everyone when it happened.

Jon did a good job. :)

I'm sure there are tons of grammatical errors I didn't proof read, so sorry if anything doesn't make sense.
